Joseph Rodd, M.D.
Medical Director/Principal Investigator

Dr. Rodd began working in clinical trials in 2000, and has performed as an Investigator on over 50 CNS studies. He completed his residency at the Univesity of California San Francisco in 1985. Board Certified in Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. Rodd has been an active and prominent Psychiatrist in Southwest Los Angeles County for over 20 years. He has privilages at 4 major hospitals, 12 skilled nursing facilities and 4 assisted living facilities. In addition, he is well networked with many psychiatrists, neurologists, cardiologists, and psychologists in the area. As Medical Director, Dr. Rodd oversees our outpatient clinic, inpatient facility, and supervises all sub-Investigators.

Carlos Valdes
CEO

Since 1986, Mr. Valdes has worked for 9 psychiatric hospitals, 3 nursing homes and a neuro-rehab facility. He began working in research as a Clinical Research Coordinator in 1998. In 2000, he started his administrative career as a site administrator overseeing Los Angeles region operations for a large SMO based in Southern California. He has worked with 9 Principal Investigators in Southern California on over 160 CNS clinical trials. With an education in law and clinical research, and a strong clinical trial marketing background, he co-founded AVI in 2002. Mr. Valdes serves as CEO, and is well versed in clinical site management, business development, and marketing.
